Ali and Tyler were married in a Destination Wedding on July 1st, with their ceremony and reception at Las Terrazas.

Ali and Tyler wanted to take advantage of the beautiful beaches and views in Belize. Ali used to teach here in Belize at the Island Academy in San Pedro, so this location was particularly special to them. What’s more, the two of them are relocating to Guatemala, so they wanted to get some quality time with their friends and family to celebrate new beginnings before they left.

Both Ali and Tyler were a little worried about the weather before the wedding. They had coordinated bringing a few decorations and other things from Guatemala, and they didn’t want it to literally rain on their parade. On the day of the wedding itself, it was very windy, but it didn’t rain until their first dance. Despite the weather, though, they were both brimming with love and excitement—they weren’t going to let it keep them down!

Ali had told me beforehand that she didn’t really want too many “getting ready” pictures and instead suggested that Ty should get pictures with his family while she was getting into her dress. After all, they had to make use of the limited sunshine available. So, we were able to get pictures of Ty with his extensive family—his mother, stepfather and step siblings; his father and father’s girlfriend; his siblings; and his sister’s family, with her husband and two children. It was a perfect way to start the day—with a family that clearly loves and supports him—while Ali was surrounded by her own friends as they helped her to do her makeup and hair.

After the ceremony on the beach, we grabbed a few photos on the dock, near the water, and around the resort before we headed poolside for the party. There were 100 guests, so 100 coconuts had been cut out to create a local rum punch drink—which everyone loved. Even when it started to rain, it was clear the whole group had a blast, and there was so much love to go around.

Tyler & Ali, thank you for asking me to be your wedding photographer. I wish you both nothing but the best not only in your new lives as a married couple but in your adventures together in Guatemala! Best of luck!
